Prehistoric Park

Welcome to the Ultimate Wildlife Sanctuary!

Prehistoric Park is the wildlife sanctuary that aims to bring live specimens of extinct animals to the present day with the ultimate goal of starting breeding programs. Spearheaded by wildlife adventurer Nigel Marven, the park acquires its long-extinct residents via the time portal, which allows people, objects, and animals to travel back and forth through time.

Prehistoric Creatures[]

Prehistoric Park's main priority is to bring back the amazing animals that time has left behind from the brink of extinction and give them a 2nd chance at the ultimate wildlife sanctuary. The park currently houses 14 species of extinct animals. The species Nigel and his team have successfully brought back are:

Nigel has also encountered several other prehistoric creatures during his rescue missions, but never attempted to rescue them for numerous reasons, such as the species not being part of the mission objective, or a lack of means to transport them to the park and contain them. They are:

Trivia[]

  • Despite being called a wildlife sanctuary, Prehistoric Park is more akin to a zoo than an actual wildlife sanctuary.
  • By the end of the series, Prehistoric Park was home to 14 species of extinct animals; 6 dinosaurs, 3 mammals, 3 arthropods, 1 crocodilian, and 1 bird.
    • Out of these 14 species, only 9 were intentionally rescued. The rest were either unexpected or accidental.
  • The first three species Nigel rescued, Triceratops, Ornithomimus, and T. rex, were all put in enclosures located near or next to the river on the west side of the park.
  • Despite plans of having a woolly mammoth be brought back to the Park, Prehistoric Park was built in a warm, open savannah; not ideal for an Ice Age mammal adapted to the cold. Logically, it would've been better if the park was built in a more temperate environment, cool enough for the mammoth to thrive but warm enough for the dinosaurs to not get too cold.
    • However, this might caused problems for cold-blooded reptiles like the Deinosuchus, which require heat to regulate their body temperature.
  • Prehistoric Park managed to successfully breed both sabre-toothed cats and Ornithomimus. These were the first extinct animals to have offspring in the modern day.
  • Troodon was the only animal at the park without a proper enclosure by the end of the series, due to it being an accidental rescue.
