The cave lion (Panthera spelaea) is an extinct species of big cat that lived during the Pleistocene in Eurasia. It became extinct 13,000 years ago.
In Prehistoric Park[]
According to a storyboard, a cave lion would have made an appearance in "A Mammoth Undertaking". Nigel would have encountered one whilst riding through the forest on his snowmobile, it appeared briefly hiding behind a tree, and when Nigel turned to get a better look it had runoff.
Errors[]
- The cave lion actually went extinct 3,000 years before that part of the episode was set, 10,000 years ago. So it makes sense to remove it from the episode.
